Firefighters advise four people sustained minor injuries during the evacuations and one person was transported to a city hospital.

A and C trains will run with delays in both directions. There is no F train service between Broadway-Larayette St and Jay St- Metro Tech. Most F trains are being rerouted via the D train between W 4 St and Coney Island-Stillwell Ave.

According to local news sources report power was lost around 5:30 p.m. between Jay Street/Metro Tech Station and Hoyt-Schermerhorn due to an underground transformer fire. The A/C/F/G lines were disrupted and around 3,500 passangers had to be evacuated from two F trains that were stalled. The situation was placed under control and evacuations completed around 8:15 p.m., however service to the A/C/F lines are still impacted.

Once again something goes wrong and FDNY is handling it. As soon as I saw a firefighter on their knees I knew that whatever the problem was, people were being helped. What a commitment to humanity. If the 911 dispatchers would send the fire department instead of the police when a mentally ill person is in crisis, their life would not be extinguished by Nypd bullets. They would get care .
