We don’t have to live like this

@statenislandUser1294364002 I feel like both democrats & republicans actually want a better country free from shooting fatalities… each party just disagrees on how to get there. Like republicans lean towards law & order (things like stricter law enforcement & penalties)… which could overlook some of the social issues that could lead people to commit crimes. Democrats tend to want to focus on these social issues, but forget that even if programs are successful it could take years to change behavior… which overlooks crime in the present (& crimes where social issues weren’t the root cause). Wouldn’t it be great if we could see the utility in each & compromise? The exception is probably the extremes, they seem to just want to sow division & solve things w/intolerance & violence. So just say no to the extremes, & vote moderate red or blue!

@columbusUser1184858016 this has been going on for years sadly you just probably didn’t hear about it as much. It does seem like there’s more shootings and crime incidents now of course and every time something happens it’s on all The news, social media etc there’s more news coverage now so we hear more about it. I looked it up and it said shootings at school started in the mid-19th century in the 1840s. Here is some info “Early History (19th and Early 20th Centuries)First recorded incidents: Historians note school shootings happening well before modern times, including an 1853 incident at the University of Virginia where a student shot and killed a professor.Frequency: These early events happened occasionally, but they were rare compared to modern times.”

And one more thing we need to start playing laying blame or blame needs to be late first and that is at the feet of the parents it is not the school's job to teach your child how to be a upstanding member of society it is yours it is not the teacher's jobs to teach common sense and everything anymore all of that is supposed to be done by the parents that's why the kids in the 80 and 70s and 80s you know had a little bit of sense and you didn't hear that s*** because we were still raised that baby's in the 90s having babies babies in the 2000 having babies and nobody knows how to raise any of them
