The police vehicle was stopped at the intersection and then proceeded through the intersection with its emergency lights flashing and siren activated. The Jeep Cherokee driver used the right-turn lane to pass other vehicles while traveling approximately 40 MPH before T-boning the police vehicle. Following the collision, the driver accelerated and floored the gas pedal, striking a traffic light pole. The impact stopped the vehicle and prevented it from crashing into the State Farm office.
