Many years ago when we first moved to the city, our dog was fine off leash but had never seen a hand glider before and at first it was funny that they were hovering over us teasing her but then she had had it and chased one right off a cliff. She was lucky that she landed on a platform 20ft below
Well maybe you shouldn't have let them taunt your dog and tempt fate like that. Seems inevitable to me that this would happen in this situation but maybe I'm just way more logical than most people. 🤷♀️
A woman was buried and died when a Fort Funston cliff collapsed on her in 2017. The cliff area is dangerous.
I was there with my partner at the time and our pack of dogs that day. The emergency vehicles were just showing up as we were leaving and later on we found out what happened. Also important to note that she was trying to climb up and caused a landslide. Those cliffs are very sandy and loose. Extremely unstable.
Isn’t a terrible waste of SFFD resources, provides good practice and experience for search and rescue.
People need to be more careful bringing their dogs up to this cliff like that it could’ve really been deadly
