He’s not supposed to park there…
When I was in drivers ed, one of my classmates drove her grandmas car through the nail salon next door this way. Accidentally hit the gas instead of the break. I did the same to my garage later on. Not nearly as bad though. She didn’t stop till she hit the back of the salon

Often people push on their accelerator when they should be hitting the brakes. Due to the fear they might push even harder on the accelerator and not realize it. This is speculation but it happens in a lot of cases.
