The owner did not even seem appreciative. You should’ve laid into them about caring for the dog more properly. They didn’t even ask how he got out or concerned so this must happen all the time, but good job anyway for being more concerned than the owner.
The next time you wanna gain a dog trust, don’t chase him around with a phone in your hand show him. Your hands are empty and talk to him sweet and offer something. You scared him running off like that. He could’ve got hit by a car, but I guess maybe I hope you’re the one that saved him. That door should be locked. Anybody can open it up and let them out just to be cruel or even try to steal him.
