9/3/2026 12:00 p.m. - Police Activity at Carlsbad High School Carlsbad Police received a report of a phoned-in threat at Carlsbad High School. In collaboration with the school, a precautionary lockdown was initiated while officers fully investigate. Officers are on campus, along with our law enforcement partners, to thoroughly check the school and investigate the report. The police response and lockdown are precautionary measures to ensure the safety of students and staff while we complete our investigation. Students and staff remain in lockdown and cannot be picked up at this time. Parents and guardians are asked not to come to campus and to keep the surrounding streets clear for responding personnel. Parents and guardians who are already in the area are being directed to the southwest parking lot at The Shoppes at Carlsbad. The school is communicating directly with families, and we will continue to provide updates as additional information becomes available. Thank vou for vour patience and cooperation
CARLSBAD HIGH SCHOOL LOCKDOWN Carlsbad High School remains under lockdown Thursday afternoon following a threat that was called into the school shortly before the lockdown was initiated around 11:26 a.m. According to an email sent to parents and guardians by Principal Julie Redfield, the lockdown was implemented in coordination with the Carlsbad Police Department as a precautionary safety measure. School officials say all students and staff are safe at this time. The school remains on lockdown.
