@danielsutton 100%. We are in a crisis. The answer is not throwing every mentally ill person in jail. I have a sister who has never had any interface with police or the law, smart and so kind and nature loving. She developed acute psychosis, became scared people were trying to hurt a family she made up in her head, and tried to defend herself. She is now in jail not receiving the help she needs. It’s making her problem worse and she is deteriorating. Because she is in jail, she could not pay bills or rent. That means she got evicted. Now she has nothing: no clothes, no computer, no furniture, nowhere to go. She only has her phone and what she went into jail with. My sister is not evil at all, she is just like you and me. But now she has nothing, not getting treatment, not able to assist in her own defense. It makes me so sad. And she is one of so many.
Tell her to walk it off.
