I was in Howard beach on cross bay heading in the direction of OP and seen the sky light up. I thought it was lightning.

My husband and I were across the street from the explosion. We were taking a walk. The transformer exploded. Loud bang, flash and sparks. I screamed, scared the heck out of me.
Me nd my daughter was over the sink in the kitchen all we saw it was like fireworks nd then the lights went out we started running out side
@southozoneparkUser1400465008 Defenitely transformer I was looking outside the back window and heard the explosion and lit up all red then it went black a few homes in a row on spritz rd
