Do they REALLY save lives, though? I've met bikers that were brain damaged, a shell of themselves, after accidents who wish they were dead. I've seen fatalities where a helmet was worn.
I know who this is (rode with him many times) and he was always a very cautious and safe rider. This is sickening and heartbreaking

He was a great guy and has been ridding for years  helmets don’t always save your life, you can’t control other people or other drivers cause I promise you this wasn’t the motorcycle is fault knowing him he don’t risk his life 
Anyone riding a motorcycle not wearing a helmet takes a risk of this idiot drivers hitting them. I am not blaming anyone but simply saying you cant trust anyone so any added "safety" would be advised of course! If you are ejected and hit your hit helmets are an important conversation to have. I am NOT saying someone is to blame for another drivers mistake however.
