If Tacoma cracked down on all of the expired vehicle tabs and out of state plates… it seems like they’d be able catch a lot of these uninsured drivers as well… which could also help decrease our sky high insurance premiums. A portion of the registration/renewal fees also goes towards road maintenance and improvement projects, so maybe we wouldn’t need to be talking about (voting on) yet another tax to cover road mx as well. For example, according to mynorthwest.com, there’s an estimated 593,000 drivers operating with expired tabs statewide, leading to roughly $100 million in lost revenue.
