Suspect Arrested After Crashing Car Into Business, Breaking Into Home and Hiding Loaded Firearm in Mailbox

During his flight from the crash scene, Graff hid a loaded firearm inside a mailbox in the 2100 block of Southeast 98th Avenue. Officers recovered the revolver and ammunition.

While officers established a perimeter, a resident in the 2000 block of Southeast 97th Avenue called 911 to report a burglary in progress at their occupied home. Officers escorted the resident to safety before locating and arresting Graff inside.

The driver, later identified as John F. Graff, 55, of Troutdale, fled the scene on foot.

Two people inside sustained minor injuries from flying debris.
