Thank goodness they checked carefully and discovered the faint pulse. Imagine if that person had had a chance still but the responders rushed through, didn't detect a pulse and gave up, threw over the sheet and called it a day. I wonder how often that happens.... Good reason for EVERYONE to learn cpr. Even if you arent comfortable doing rescue breaths, if you can just do the compressions, it will still circulate the oxygen that was already in his lungs when they went down, and that is better than nothing. My fiance survived (he does have a brain injury, but he could have been SO much worse or not survived at all) because I was there and did CPR. Don't be afraid to try to help someone
