Summary
- A small black bear was reported in the wash area near Laurel Canyon Blvd and Moorpark St in Studio City, California.
- Authorities have requested an aviation unit to assist in locating the bear as it was last seen moving eastbound.
- Residents are urged to remain calm and keep a safe distance — never approach, feed, or attempt to photograph a bear at close range.
- If you encounter a bear, do not run. Back away slowly while facing the animal, make yourself appear large, and speak in a firm, calm voice. Give the bear a clear escape route and do not corner it. If a bear charges, stand your ground — most charges are bluffs.
