Man Arrested After Allegedly Firing Shots, Carjacking Rideshare Vehicle With Passengers and Hitting Pedestrians

Omar Abdul Singateh, 25, of Brampton, faces charges including discharging a firearm recklessly, robbery, four counts of forcible confinement and dangerous operation causing bodily harm. He was scheduled to appear in court Sunday afternoon.

Two people were taken to a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds, and a third was hospitalized after being struck by the vehicle. The accused was also treated for gunshot injuries. Police say all of the injuries are non-life-threatening. A firearm was recovered in the vehicle.
