It’s honestly crazy how normalized hate and disrespect toward Tibet has become. People don’t even think twice before making insensitive comments, and it says a lot about how careless and inhumane the internet can be sometimes. A man literally self-immolated because of how strongly he felt about Tibet not being free, and whether people agree or not, he was still a real person who had been speaking about it for a long time and believed in what he was doing. At the very least, he deserves respect, not jokes or hate. It’s just sad how quickly people forget basic empathy and treat serious situations like they don’t matter. Tibet still not being free after all this time is something that should make people reflect, not mock. We really need to do better as people and stop being so numb to other people’s pain.
