Update for anyone who caught my accidental half-hour neighbourhood mystery live last night lol: it wasn’t an actual building fire. Right before I started recording, there had been a small BBQ/fire situation behind the building that seemed to get handled pretty quickly. Then the second truck showed up and I got confused because the pumper number didn’t look like the one usually assigned to this area. So naturally I turned into a balcony detective trying to figure out if they had gone to the wrong spot or what was happening. In the video closer to the end you can hear a firefighter on the radio say what actually happened - Someone had complained about the BBQ, which… really? It smelled like hot dogs and people having fun, not a five-alarm disaster. I’m still not totally sure why that particular truck came instead of the one I expected, but everything was resolved and there wasn’t an actual building fire — just dramatic firetruck confusion and hot dog-scented neighbourhood drama.
