Summary
- SFFD CONDUCTING CLIFF RESCUE OPERATION AT LAND’S END
- SAN FRANCISCO, CA – San Francisco Fire Department crews are currently on scene at Land’s End in the Presidio, responding to a report of an individual injured off the cliffside.
- Due to terrain and weather conditions, rescuers do not have visual confirmation of the individual at this time. San Francisco Emergency Management 911 dispatchers have maintained constant communication with the individual and are directing fire crews to the location. SFFD is also using cell phone triangulation technology to pinpoint the exact position.
- The individual has reported injuries. The extent of those injuries is unknown at this time. SFFD technical rescue teams are assessing and preparing a rope rescue system to safely lower rescuers down the cliffside.
- Updates will be provided as the operation progresses.
