Ok here it is: Several Kayakers washed up on the rocks. One has a head injury. He is being lifted out by ropes using clif rescue truck. All others were taken by Jet skis to the boat launch at LJ Shores. Helicopter is there as backup in case the cliff rescue by rope doesn't work.
I was reading about this cliff rescue earlier today. The RP called 911 from the path because a kayaker was trapped high and dry and screaming for help. I was also aware of the kayak tours getting cancelled last week because of the winds and a missing couple the day before. I’m glad he was rescued and I’m glad the RP called it in. I think he was going to try to climb out of there but he was stranded.
Even with experience the weather and other factors like the people you're out with and their skill level can all factor in
