Police Detain Barricaded Man After Reported Stabbing

The incident is still under active investigation by police.

The suspect eventually surrendered after being bitten by a K9 unit and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Officers deployed tear gas and additional less-lethal tactics in an effort to safely take the suspect into custody.

At some point during the standoff, officers made contact with the suspect, who then managed to get to the front of the residence and enter a parked vehicle, where he barricaded himself once again.

After multiple call-outs by officers, it was determined a BearCat armored rescue vehicle was needed due to the suspect possibly still being armed with a knife.

The suspect then ran into the residence and barricaded himself inside a room.

Upon arrival, officers located the suspect in the backyard.

At around 7:30 a.m., police were dispatched to the 3200 block of Arnold Street following reports of a man stabbing a male family member.
