People are commenting on why there are so many fires.. When the weather warms up ConEd or whichever electric company..they LOWER the voltage.. instead of 110/120 at the outlet, they drop it down to around 90 volts... ( to save us, yeah BS) So when you lower the voltage items that need the voltage pull more amps.. amperage creates heat in wiring and devices not made for that.. We will.see refrigerators and air-conditioneds tossed out because the burn up because of this... Ok so ac units running through thin extension cords create a lot of heat and the cord or the wires in the wall melt a a fire starts.... Oh another reason they lower the volts to raise the amperage use, is how the meters work to bill you.. more amps.more$$$
100% CORRECT
^thats a great explanation final someone with some intelligence
Every damn day there's a fire now. Be safe FDNY & any affected by this
