Email from the principal - As you know, one of my top priorities as principal is ensuring we have open lines of communication between staff and administration -- especially when something unusual happens. I want you to trust that I will always keep you informed. At 10:02 a.m. today, our building was placed on lockdown because of a threatening phone call to the front office. This was done out of an abundance of caution, in line with our normal safety protocols, and under the advisement of Lexington Police. All of our students and staff remained safe inside the building during the alert, and Fayette County Public Schools Police are providing an extra layer of security in and around our campus. We appreciate their continued efforts in keeping our school and our students safe. I understand that unusual incidents such as this may be stressful or raise questions. School safety terminology, procedures, and the safety tracker can be found at fcps.net/satety. If you have any additional questions or concerns.
