The Stratford Fire Department, Stratford Emergency Medical Services and the Department of Transportation responded to the scene to assist with medical care and traffic control.
The driver and two passengers in the 2008 Honda Civic were pronounced deceased at the scene by Stratford EMS personnel. The driver of the Lexus ES350 fled from the collision scene prior to police arrival.
CSP's preliminary investigation revealed that a 2012 Chrysler 200 and a 2008 Honda Civic were traveling in the right lane of two lanes on CT-15. A 2014 Lexus ES350 was traveling in the right lane in sequential order behind the Chrysler and Honda. The Lexus collided into the rear of Honda causing the Honda to collide into the rear of Chrysler. As a result of the collision, a post-collision fire ensued.
On May 10, 2026, at approximately 4:50 a.m., troopers responded to a reported motor vehicle collision on CT-15 South, in the area of exit 36, in the Town of Stratford.
