I witnessed this and made the call while heading to work. The pedestrian wasn’t on the sidewalk. They were walking along the dirt near the tracks. The train was approaching and it seemed like they were aware, but when they tried to cross the tracks, they looked over their shoulder like they froze, got stuck or realized it was too late. That’s when they were struck and I unfortunately saw the aftermath. This happened around 7am. It was really tragic, and I’m still in shock from what I saw. It could have been a homeless by the attire, but really who knows. Lots of scenarios.

In any case, whatever the reason, it’s sad. Someone lost their life. That’s someone’s son, daughter, father or mother. So sad 😢

I feel bad for the conductor and the commuters.

There is zero reason for this for anyone to be on the tracks. The person had to have been under the influence, mentally ill, or suicidal. RIP
