On April 13, 2026, at approximately 3:23 p.m., San Francisco Police officers responded to Mission Street and S Van Ness Avenue regarding a report of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian. Officers and paramedics arrived on scene and located a deceased adult. Through the course of the investigation, officers determined that the vehicle associated with the collision fled from the scene. Officers coordinated with the Real Time Investigation Center (RTIC) and located the vehicle traveling on the freeway. The suspect vehicle exited the freeway, and officers conducted a traffic stop with the assistance of San Francisco Sheriff’s deputies in the area of Portero Avenue and 18th Street. The driver of the vehicle was detained without further incident. Through the course of their investigation, officers developed probable cause to arrest 30-year-old Valentino Cash Amil of San Francisco. The suspect was transported to San Francisco County Jail for the charges of homicide (187(a) PC) and felony vehicle hit and run with injury (20001 (a) CVC). They caught the driver. Took him away in a cop car. Passenger came back to grab stuff from the trunk before a tow truck came
@sanfranciscoUser2194803018 I just watched an apprehension go down with four suspects (elsewhere). 3 of the 4 individuals got to go back to -what was possible- the stolen car and grab their belongings 🤷♀️
