The driver suffered minor injuries, while the passenger was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

According to police, at approximately 10:59 a.m., communications received a report of a traffic collision with injuries near West Charleston Boulevard and South Essex Drive. Patrol officers responded and found two occupants inside a vehicle that had collided with a large rock and a pole.
