Dear Garfield Families, A bomb threat was made on the school via email. School staff reported the threat to the district’s Safety and Security Office. The Seattle Police Department was called to the scene and are currently sweeping the area. In an abundance of caution and to reduce the tension of our students and staff, the school was evacuated to the football field. School will continue as planned until our regular dismissal time. We will continue to communicate additional information as it becomes available. I am proud of how staff and students responded to this incident. Our school and district safety and security procedures were followed.

I just got an email from the school. Someone called in a bomb threat to the school.
When I was going to school at Garfield we didn’t have crazy things like this new generation
