Believe it or not a dead whale is dangers to be around because the gasses inside it start to build up and they eventually explode. Please don’t get too close.

amseasorg On March 25, 2026, AMSEAS received a notification from an aerial survey team about a whale carcass floating offshore approximately 15 miles south of Long Island. This morning, AMSEAS received an alert that a whale had stranded in Rockaway Beach. The whale has been confirmed to be the same animal observed floating yesterday based off photos shared and has been identified as a Sei whale approximately 40 ft in length.

Oh great! Now someone on the research team can study why and how it died. Hopefully it's stomach is not filled with plastics :(

kiyaskMar 26 at 4:23 PM

Whales can live up to 90-100 years so the fact that they’re dying is really really bad

jamaicaUser1515183008Mar 26 at 4:44 PM

You don't know how old this one is. Could be 100 and it was his time.

My heart is with our poor whale friend 💕
