Crews responded around 2 a.m. north of La Tijera Boulevard, where a white sedan overturned and both occupants were pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash has not been released.

Two people were killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash early Wednesday.

Authorities notified the Los Angeles County Coroner, who expected to arrive around 5:30 a.m. and instructed officers to leave the vehicle undisturbed. Crews worked to reopen the HOV and first lane within an hour to restore traffic flow once the fire department finished at the scene.

Video shows a cloud of dark smoke rising from the scene.

Tow trucks and Caltrans crews responded to clear the scene, per CHP.

Authorities issued a traffic alert warning that all lanes would remain closed for approximately three hours.

Officers stopped all lanes and diverted traffic off the freeway at La Tijera Boulevard while the Los Angeles Fire Department worked to extinguish the blaze.

Engine 5 from truck, what do you need us to do for you, we're here? Yeah, come up past the rescue here and spot to possibly flip this car. You'll see, just stay towards the center divider, past the rescue.

Unit 5, truck, we got people coming off the on-ramp. CHP just closed off the La Tierra on-ramp, so it should be clear in just a second. All clear to us. So are you saying we should go back to La Tierra and not enter on Manchester? No, I would try and enter on Manchester if you can. They've got it completely shut down.

Go ahead, Engine 5. Yeah, Chief, you can come through at your discretion. We just had an auto rollover with two patients inside, 814. We can handle, we just need the truck to help with the recovery. Roger that, thanks. I'm going to continue through. Thank you.
