Lock your doors and lock your windows. It's winter you don't need to be opening your windows right now and it's always best to keep your doors locked unless you are exiting or entering through them. You have to expect not everybody is a good person. Safer to lock up your house and make sure you have something to defend yourself on your person or within Arms Reach.
