Three Juveniles Ejected, One Fatality After Stolen Vehicle Flips During Pursuit

Three juveniles were ejected from the vehicle and suffered moderate to major injuries. One juvenile was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other two were transported by Hall Ambulance. A police pursuit involving a stolen vehicle ended in a deadly crash Sunday evening on eastbound Highway 178 in East Bakersfield. Officers located a stolen red Hyundai and later discontinued the pursuit due to unsafe speeds. Shortly after, the vehicle crashed into a guardrail near the Baker Street overpass, vaulted over the median, and struck westbound traffic.
