Two Dogs Rescued From Ice on Maumee River

Crews from the Toledo Fire & Rescue Department’s Special Operations Bureau responded to the Maumee River on January 6, 2026, after two dogs became stranded on the ice. Firefighters were able to safely reach and rescue both dogs without injury.
