It's not stupid because a lot of people don't know. A few feet of water may look unassuming if youre used to pools. Honestly I'm surprised there aren't simpler "Danger. Currents in shallow water" signs for those that don't know

whether you can swim or not oceans are dangerous i have lifeguard training but it needs to be updated regularly literally anyone can be swept out and under calling a dead woman “stupid” doesn’t negate that a beach trip is always deadly and risky
