I think the people that do this are Not Originally from Here... thats my Guess. They see a large body of water and Assume its Ok to Jump In ???? But someone said, they jumped for their Dog. As insane as It Sounds,,,,, I THINK i would TOO !!!!! 😩

Why are you assuming tourists want to swim. Why not get the facts first and then comment. People commit suicide, people are thrown in the water, and intoxicated people are also dumb and fall or jump. There's many reasons. Now, where's the dog they're mentioning?
The East River and the Hudson River are not for swimming there's no way to get out the undertow is very very strong it will pull you right out to sea or right underneath stop swimming in the river in New york.
