A serious crash occurred Sunday night around 9:57 PM in the westbound feeder lanes of the Katy Freeway near Mason Road. A young man driving an older model pickup truck reportedly lost control on the service road between Merchants Way and Mason Road. The vehicle struck a guard rail near the pedestrian walkway over Mason Creek, became airborne, and flipped. Emergency crews extracted the driver from the wreck and began CPR before he was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition. Police are still on scene, and the feeder lanes remain closed as the investigation continues. An officer at the scene said they believe the driver has a chance to recover.
Not sure if Citizen admins read these comments, but that helicopter livery appears to be a Life Flight from Memorial Hermann hospital. Most likely somebody was severely injured and flown to nearby hospital.
