On May 11, 2025, at approximately 11:34 p.m. UTC, police responded to reports of shots fired at 294 Port Richmond Ave, Staten Island, New York. Upon arrival, officers recovered two firearms at the scene and reported an injured individual.
Further investigation revealed that the injured person was a police officer. The officer sustained injuries from shattered glass caused by confirmed gunfire. It was initially unclear if the officer had been shot, but it was later confirmed that the injuries were due to the glass. One person has been detained in connection with the incident.
