Summary

A large fire broke out at a three-story apartment building under construction at 138 N Carondelet St in Los Angeles, CA, on April 3, 2025. The fire was reported early in the morning, and firefighters responded promptly to the scene. The Los Angeles Fire Department deployed multiple units to combat the blaze, which was producing heavy smoke in the attic. Firefighters entered defensive mode to manage the situation.
Rescue units, including Rescue 11 and Rescue 20, were on-site to provide medical support and assist with firefighting efforts. Engine 6 repositioned to deploy a wagon battery on the main fire, while other units addressed exposures on the Delta and Bravo sides of the building. Additional units were requested for the Bravo side, where multiple apartments on the second story were involved.
The Los Angeles Police Department and the Department of Transportation closed Beverly Blvd from Rampart to Parkview to facilitate the ongoing fire response.
