Isaac 26. Isaac 26. Do you have any information on a building collapse on the 700 block of North 17th? Yeah, I'm trying to, I'm monitoring it right now. So, so far, it's an apartment building. Correct location, 718 North 16th. It looks like it's a four-story building, large debris on the side of the building fell. Unknown if anyone's still inside the building. People have left the building. Copy.

9 Charlie. 9 Charlie. Okay, be advised, we have a lot of debris on the whole highway. Got a lot of fireboard out here. I'm going to need some units for crowd control. I'm going to need someone to take the 1700 block of Folsom at 18th Street, start moving those people out of the way. Also, here at 17th and Folsom, we need to start pushing these people back. Alright, I need units to take 1700 Folsom for traffic. Is there anybody inside of the building? 9 Charlie, at this time, it looks like, uh, 10-4.

This what happens when license contractors hire the cheapest laborers they can find smh that building had a good foundation they’ve totally destroyed it

I wouldn’t be surprised if this was reported months ago and the landlord ignored it

I'm sure that they'll say the building is not structurally sound, the building will be demolished, and then very expensive new homes will be built there which will not be low income housing....it's been happening around the neighborhood for years ~ another method being used to rid the neighborhood of low income residents...gentrification is at an alarming rate, and whatever they need to do to get rid of low income housing is what they will do, and trust me, everyone is on board. Including PHA because they do not rebuild, they just replace the residents and sell the properties....hopefully they won't cause any fatalities behind this form of greed.
