According to a statement from LAPD: On September 16, 2024, around 4:50 a.m., North Hollywood Division uniformed officers responded to a radio call of an Assault with a Deadly Weapon (ADW) Suspect with a Firearm in the 12100 block of Victory Boulevard. Witnesses indicated that the suspect, later identified as 37-year-old Sean Griffin, had shot into an occupied vehicle, striking a victim. As the officers entered the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Bellingham Avenue, they encountered Griffin armed with a firearm. Griffin pointed the firearm at the officers, and an Officer-Involved Shooting (OIS) occurred. Griffin fled on foot as additional units began to arrive in the area. Additional officers encountered Griffin, still armed with a firearm, where a second OIS occurred. Griffin continued running, still armed, into a nearby multi-story parking structure. Officers again encountered Griffin in the parking structure, where he pointed his firearm toward the officers, and a third OIS occurred. Griffin was struck by gunfire and fell to the ground. Officers rendered aid to Griffin until the arrival of Los Angeles Fire Department personnel, but he was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officers attempted to render aid to the victim of the original ADW Shooting radio call, who had suffered a gunshot wound. The victim was determined to be deceased at the scene. Investigators from Operation Valley Bureau (OVB) Homicide responded and conducted the homicide investigation involving the victim. A loaded firearm with one round in the chamber and two rounds in the magazine was located next to Griffin, and additional live rounds were recovered from Griffin's person. The firearm was recovered and booked as evidence. No officers were injured as a result of this incident."

Really sad to see what the Valley has turned into. As kids, this was our stomping grounds for shopping with our parents and grand parents. Lots of good memories, and this just saddens me to see the chaoticness and danger going on. Prayers for this City of Angels today.
