The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Major Crimes Division is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect responsible for an arson in Central Division. On September 13, 2024, at 3:43 a.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded to a fully involved fire on the 700 block of New Depot Street in a three-story apartment building under construction. Four other occupied residential, multi-story apartment complexes were also exposed to the fire. Mass evacuations of the adjacent occupied apartments occurred because of these fires.
