A man was killed while handling a firework Thursday night around 10 p.m. in the 3000 block of North Kostner Avenue. Police say a 34-year-old man, later identified as Earl Lory by the Medical Examiner's Office, suffered trauma to the body while handling the firework. He died at the scene.

At the end of the day, someone died. We have to be more empathetic. To laugh at this or make jokes is just wrong if we are being real. This person has a family who is grieving. This was a terrible accident. Let’s be respectful and leave it at that.
