Timeline

A "Gaza Solidarity Occupation" is scheduled at USC's Alumni Park today.

USC has canceled its commencement ceremony for students who are graduating in May. The event was scheduled for May 8 to May 11. "We understand that this is disappointing," the school said on its website. Administrators cited "new safety measures."

At least four California colleges have seen major pro-Palestinian demonstrations, including UCLA, USC, Cal Poly and UC Berkeley.

One person in custody was charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

All participants arrested were charged with trespassing.

An update via a statement from LAPD increases the number of confirmed arrests to 93, almost twice the previous count.

Police have detained approximately a dozen individuals for trespassing at the USC protest and are continuing to push the remaining crowd north onto Jefferson Street.

Police are managing crowd control, ensuring transport vans have space to avoid driving through a group of about 50 protesters near USC.

Police are observing the protest group's movements, noting a smaller contingent dispersing while approximately 25 individuals head northbound.

According to LAPD, 55 people have been arrested as of 7 p.m.

Police have reportedly ordered the protesters to disperse.

Police are monitoring a new group blocking the intersection at Jefferson and Hoover near the USC protest, coordinating response efforts.

Protesters have clashed with police after setting up an encampment at USC, NBC reported. Arrests have been reported, but the number has not been confirmed. The gates of the school have been closed.

Protesters at the University of Southern California have set up a pro-Palestinian encampment protest at Alumni Park. Students have set up tents in the area and are reportedly demanding the school divest from companies with ties to Israel.

Incident reported at 3570 Trousdale Pkwy.

The people of Palestine literally just wants Israel to stop B O M Bing them and let the aid trucks in!! Innocent civilians are NOT Hamas! Free Palestine 🇵🇸 from terrorism! PS. The US approved 95 billion more dollars (that’s right, your (citizens) taxes go towards funding wars! Funding Genocide! Funding cop city. These protestors are fighting for humanity! For human rights! For the gov to stop sending our tax dollars to help fund their genocide and instead use it for its own countries problems/crises: homelessness, high cost of living/housing/rent/ food, student loans, tackle corporate greed/inflation. These protesters literally fight for the marginalized and oppressed. History shows protestors always being on the right side of history. Totally different from Karen’s being a Karen. There’s the difference
