The P28A performed an emergency landing on short final after turning base. Presumably, cut engine to idle to prepare for landing and the engine quit. Pilot reported engine out and announced that they’d have to ditch on the road. Two minor injuries. Traffic following the Piper reported them safe to FRG Local, which was a relief to all on frequency. Well done and great job to all involved.
