Summary
Empower Brands has issued a recall for around 319,000 air fryers that pose a burn hazard. The two affected products are the PowerXL DUAF-10 and DUAF-005 Vortex Dual-Basket air fryers, which were sold nationwide across various retailers.
Per the company, “the plastic U-Channel connector used to optionally combine the two food baskets inside of the air fryers can break during use” and cause the hazard.
The models being recalled are egg-shaped air fryers that have two baskets that can be used separately, or combined into one large single basket. They are described as follows:
* The 10-quart DUAF-10 model, which is 17 inches long by 16 inches wide by 12 1/2 inches tall, and weighs about 14 and a half pounds.
* The 9-quart DUAF-005 model, which is 14 inches long by 13 inches wide by 15 inches tall, and weighs about 14 pounds.
* The air fryers were sold in black or cinnamon colors.
* They have a silver label on the front that says “PowerXL”.
* There is a white label on the bottom of each unit or on the unit’s power cord that lists the model number.
**If you have one of these air fryers, stop using it immediately and contact Empower Brands to get a refund.**
You can call the company toll-free at [866-704-9370](tel:866-704-9370) from 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, or go online at [www.prodprotect.com/recall/duaf](https://recall.prodprotect.com/dualbasket) or [powerxlproducts.com](https://powerxlproducts.com) and click on “Important Safety Recall Notice” for more information.
These air fryers were sold at Target, Walmart, Kohls and other stores nationwide. They were also sold online by the same retailers, in addition to other websites from August 2021 through October 2023 for between $60 and $190, depending on the model.
Thus far, there have been 41 reports of the products breaking, along with three reports of burns.

All these recalls man. But I guess that's what happens when you prioritize profits over safety.
@Flashwave you are in the wrong place
Can we make stuff in the US again?
@AshKrikorian nobody will buy it. People only care about how much things cost. They won’t buy quality if it’s too “expensive”
Sounds like someone doesn’t have an air fryer🗿
@Nathana56 🤣
Ill just stick to my unhealthy and very flamable oil deep fryer.
🤣
