Summary
Per news reports from ABC News, ABC7, and others, a Boeing 747 cargo airplane that was headed to Belgium from NYC on Thursday had to be quickly redirected back to JFK Airport because a horse on board escaped from its stall.
While returning, the plane had to dump 20 tons of fuel around 10 miles west of Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts.
The horse remained unrestrained in the plane until the successful landing back at JFK Airport.
A pilot from the plane described the incident as such over radio communications: "We are a cargo plane, we have live animal, horse on the airplane. And the horse managed to escape his stall. We don't have a problem [flying-wise], but we need to return, return back to New York. We cannot get the horse back secured."
The pilot later asks if a vet can be prepared for when they land back in NYC.
