According to BKReader, a man had a verbal dispute over a parking spot at The Home Depot with a 35-year-old man. After the dispute, the first man went into Home Depot, then left, and followed the second man, who left in a vehicle, to Willoughby Ave & Sandford St, where he shot the 35-year-old man in the leg and the man's girlfriend in the head. The 26-year-old woman's name is Imani Sharpless, and she succumbed to her injuries five days later, at Kings County Hospital. Gunmemorial.org shared photos of Sharpless. As of this week, police are charging a 28-year-old Gwynn Oak, Maryland man with second-degree murder, second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He faces 25 years to life in prison. The defendant was ordered held without bail and to return to court on January 19, 2024. “Imani Sharpless was a young woman with her whole life ahead of her," Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said. "She died senselessly after this defendant allegedly callously opened fire on two innocent people over a minor dispute, leaving her family and friends heartbroken. We will now seek to bring the defendant to justice.”
