According to a report from ABC7 Los Angeles, two people were killed when the small plane crashed and burst into flames. Firefighters quickly put out the fire in the single-engine aircraft. Van Nuys Airport was briefly shut down but has since reopened to general aviation.

From the flight tracking it appears that the fight was doing pattern work . Most likely touch and go training ( building hours) it appears that they were trying to return right after departure. This is a critical time of flight when rapid decisions have to be made in the event of an engine failure. God Speed aviators

Oh wow, another one? How sad. It was on fire and they couldn’t identify if the passenger was a male or female. :( Pilot was male but I missed the first part & idk if he made it. I’m kind of assuming he didn’t.
