Two people died and four others were injured in a multi-vehicle rollover crash that occurred early Monday morning, police say. A black Hyundai Elantra, which was reported stolen late last month, was carrying five people. The 16-year-old driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a black Jeep heading west on West 179th Street shortly before 7 a.m. The driver and two other teenage passengers were taken to a local hospital in critical condition. A 15-year-old and a 16-year-old were pronounced dead at New York Presbyterian-Columbia. Authorities said the 53-year-old driver of the black Jeep was also taken to Harlem Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Additional video taken from the scene earlier shows passersby attempting to help those trapped in the Hyundai Elantra.
Medics clarify that the five victims with life-threatening injuries are children; an adult is in serious condition.
EMS updates that five people received life-threatening injuries and a sixth person is in serious condition.
ESU is en route to assist first responders on scene.
Police and EMS have received a 911 report of a three-vehicle collision that left at least one person trapped inside a vehicle.

SMDH - young folk need something better to do this summer - need more jobs, more basketball leagues - the DA Bragg is no friend to us
The parents have to care enough to sign them up for it months in advance and their are lotteries to get in them... these people have no idea what they're talking about, kids can't even sign up for it alone
Washington Heights has the narrowest streets with wild hills. How could anybody that's sane speed in that neighborhood.
@pefma but that’s not what happened They Lost There Lives and they are children have some respect….
Glad to know jeep driver survived
Y’all sound ignorant af. I’m quite sure most criminals have active parents. You can’t control what these kids do these days. Don’t fault the parents
@bo0g please don’t do procreate, parents are the only ones to fault. Parents are supposed to guide, advise and make sure their kids are in bed at 6:30 in the morning, not stealing cars
