I don't know where the car was originally stolen but it contained three men who started robbing people near Berteau and Ravenswood around 10:30am. They proceeded to rob several other people west of Ravenswood. One of the victims was able to start tracking her phone which was at Damen and Cullom. The police also got the plate number of the vehicle and that's why the helicopter was brought in to track it. The SUV crashed in the intersection and caught on fire. The three passengers bailed on the car and at least one was spotting running onto the football field at Amundsen high school so the supposedly the school went on lockdown. You can hear how everything happened on the Crimeisdown.com police scanner. Listen to the 19th district scanner beginning at 10:30am.

@ChicagoNeighborLAZ same I can hear it overhead. I wonder if this one’s a news crew. The scanner also said they recovered a gun from a recycling bin a few houses down

SpotNews on Twitter reporting one of the offenders left their phone in the car with their picture on the lock screen 😵‍💫🥴

According to the scanner right now all 4 in custody. Found in a garage on Oakley

@rkm7201 that’s good but will probably be released soon. City no longer puts any of these small time robbers in jail
