I wish we could bring back long term (residential) mental health treatment, where ppl can stay indefinitely. Many ppl are simply not able to function in society and our current options are proving unhelpful and inadequate

My heart goes out to the victims, to those who witnessed this & those who helped. Thinking of you all tonight.
As a therapist, I see SO much serious mental illness going completely untreated in this city. Ppl go to jail, get out, reoffend, and if they’re put in the psych ward, they’re unethically discharged even if they’re still not safe for the community.
